Another hint: Surprisingly cheap interior for the brand name
It felt FCA quality but should have been much nicer

That handle looks so damn cheap for a 40k+ vehicle.

Ah-ha!
Yeah, I had a feeling it was one of the two lower-tier ones but which one was a stab in the dark.

eww. I’ve come to realize that back seat areas are the new place to cut costs...when I sat in the KL cherokee for the first time I was all “wow, this is a REALLY nice interior!”
Then i spent some time in the back and I was all “man alive...what a hole”
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

The whole car felt cheap! I had just gotten out of an old Versa, and it felt cheap... cost cutting much?

Ouch! That's like a hand-stitched Bentley compared to our Honda.

I have often sat in the back right away (salesmen be like “WTF?”) because I always found the same thing to be true. Not that my kids care that much, but you can tell a lot about how much a car company gives a damn when you start looking around in lesser-seen areas in general.

Fanboyism aside, BMW interiors as of late are rather disappointing, especially the materials feel cheap. Audi and Mercedes interiors are a class above imo.

I think you got that right. I had just got out of a Versa and the back felt very... cost-cutting-y. Speaking of cutting, if you were committed you could probably cut your thumb on the hand rest bit thing, as the two pieces didn't meet up properly. Nice job BMW.

This is the first modern BMW I've sat and I wouldn't doubt MB and Audi interiors are nicer... this just felt downright cheap.

x3 from a mile away. I hate how BMW puts those grab handles up near the hinge of the door where there is no leverage and you have to lean to grab it if the door is open. They’ve been doing it for decades.

Yeah I hate that on cars. Suicide doors should be standard everywhere.
X3 was right on the money.
